Consultations
We run Vet and Nurse consultations
throughout the day. All consultations are scheduled for 15 minutes. Veterinary
consultations may be for General health checks, Vaccinations, The Pet Travel
Scheme, Microchipping, Illness or Injury, in fact almost anything. Our nurses
run wellness clinics for weight control and nutrition, perform post-operative
checks and suture removal, nail clipping, ear cleaning and developmental
checks.
We always aim for continuity of care so that you always see the same person. If
you have a preferred vet or nurse, please let us know when making an
appointment.
![]() | Vaccinations We strongly recommend the vaccination
of dogs, cats and rabbits against preventable disease. |
![]() | Microchips Microchipping is an easy, cheap and convenient way to permanently identify your pet. In the unfortunate event of your pet going missing a chip can be the fastest way to reunite pet and owner. We always recommend that an identity tag is also worn on the collar (It's a legal requirement for dogs). |

Hospitalisation Whether it’s a short stay for an on-site blood test or a day stay for an operation or diagnostic testing, all inpatients are given the best of care. Should you pet require overnight hospitalisation, there is always a vet or nurse on site to take care of them. |

Diagnostics In many situations we will need some form of diagnostic testing to investigate, confirm or monitor a patients’ condition. We have comprehensive in-house diagnostic blood testing equipment from Idexx Laboratories, one of the world leaders in the field. We also have the Idexx team support from their Wetherby Labs for samples that must be sent away. Microscopy can be useful in skin disease investigation, especially for external parasites, and is very useful for diagnosing urinary crystals, a common problem, especially in cats. Our x-ray and ultrasound equipment allow us to ‘see’ inside patients, in some cases preventing the need for surgery. Endoscopy can allow us to see into patients, especially into lungs, up noses and down ears. | ![]() |

![]() | Operations We perform many operations each week. All our vets attend regular courses to ensure we always practice current best practice medicine. Each patient is continually monitored by a qualified veterinary nurse. We use modern anaesthetics and ensure each patient receives thorough pain relief not only during their stay, but also once they return home. All patients receive post-operative care instructions, and most will have 2 post-operative checks to ensure effective recovery. |
Neutering
Neutering is the removal of
an animals reproductive ability by surgical removal of the testicles (Males) or
ovaries and uterus (Females). The process is also referred to as castration
for males and as spaying for females.
Apart from preventing unwanted litters, neutering can
reduce, or prevent a number of potentially serious health problems in later
life. Also most pets will have more relaxed and stable behaviour and
temperament after neutering, making pet ownership a more enjoyable experience.
