![]() | Microchips Microchipping is an easy, cheap and convenient way to permanently identify your pet. In the unfortunate event of your pet going missing a chip can be the fastest way to reunite pet and owner. We always recommend that an identity tag is also worn on the collar (Its a legal requirement for dogs). |

Diagnostics In many situations we will need some form of diagnostic testing to investigate, confirm or monitor a patients’ condition. We have the latest in-house diagnostic blood testing equipment from Idexx Laboratories, one of the world leaders in the field. We also have the Idexx team support from their Wetherby Labs for samples that must be sent away. Microscopy can be useful in skin disease investigation, especially for external parasites, and is very useful for diagnosing urinary crystals, a common problem, especially in cats. Our x-ray and ultrasound equipment allow us to ‘see’ inside patients, in some cases preventing the need for surgery. Endoscopy can allow us to see into patients, especially into lungs, up noses and down ears. | ![]() |

Neutering
Neutering is the removal of an animals reproductive ability by surgical
removal of the testicles (Males) or ovaries and uterus (Females). The process
is also referred to as castration for males and as spaying for
females.
Neutering, apart from preventing unwanted litters,
can reduce or prevent a number of potentially serious health problems in later
life. Also most pets will have more relaxed and stable behaviour and temperament
after neutering, making pet ownership a more enjoyable experience.
